ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – NICOR, Inc. recently hired two new executives.
John Ellen was named South Central regional sales manager. Ellen comes to NICOR after working with Grainger Industrial Supply as their district sales manager.
Having a long history with both Bryant Electric and Grainger Industrial Supply, Ellen is familiar with not only the industry, but also the South Central region. With a strong background in distribution and proven leadership, Ellen has the skills required to provide the South Central region with the support it needs.
Ellen will be based out of Houston, Texas and report to NICOR’s Vice President of Sales, John Daly.
“John’s history in the industry is what makes him an excellent choice for this position,” says Daly. “His background in the distribution side of the industry, as well as his knowledge of the South Central region, will prove vital to NICOR’s success in that area.”
Ellen will manage agent and electrical distributor relationships to ensure strong positioning for the company across the South Central region.
“I’m excited to join NICOR, the company is growing quickly and that means there is a lot of opportunity for growth,” says Ellen. “I’m ready to hit the ground running and show the South Central region why NICOR’s products are the best out there.”
Ellen has a BA in Liberal Arts from Northeast Louisiana University.
Also new to NICOR, John Castner has joined the company’s leadership team as Vice President of Industrial Sales.
Castner has a long-standing history in the industrial lighting industry working for companies such as Solar Outdoor Lighting as the Business Development Manager, and CED as Profit Center Manager. More recently, he held the position of Vice President of Sales for Dialight, an LED lighting company that specializes in industrial lighting applications. His vast experience in the lighting industry will prove to be a boon for NICOR’s future growth.
Castner will also report to Daly and will be based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“NICOR is growing faster every day, and John’s experience in the industrial lighting field will be invaluable to the company. He is well known and has a proven track record in the industry. As NICOR enters the hazardous location field, John’s knowledge will prove vital to our growth” says Daly.
Castner will work closely with the sales team to develop strategies focused on growing NICOR’s hazardous location and industrial lighting line. He will also work closely with the regional sales managers to create sales initiatives that help grow NICOR’s presence in the hazardous location and industrial lighting market.
“NICOR’s recent move into the hazardous location market leaves a lot of potential for growth within the company,” says Castner. “I’m excited to help the company build its market in this field and expand its reach within the industrial market as a whole. They have a long history of producing quality products, and I’m looking forward to helping the company grow.”
Castner has an EMBA from UC Irvine and a Bachelor of Arts from Occidental College.
