LEDVANCE CEO Hansen to Depart

Following the announcement of the LEDVANCE plant in Augsburg, the company now announces that it has split up with CEO Jes Munk Hansen on 1 December. Now LEDVANCE is looking for an external successor. Jes Munk Hansen, who spoke in Augsburg to the employees of the plant and informed them about the closure of the site, also leaves LEDVANCE. As a reason for the decision, it says from the company side, they have opted for a permanently based in Garching CEO. Jes Munk Hansen, on the other hand, was based in Wilmington, Massachusetts. As the global headquarters in Germany has been confirmed, the management will increasingly work from the headquarters in Garching near Munich.

“On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I would like to sincerely thank Jes Munk Hansen for his leadership during this formative period in our corporate history. As CEO Jes Munk Hansen has driven the development of the new corporate strategy and the reorganization of the company. With Hansen as CEO, the carve-out of the company was completed by the German light conglomerate OSRAM AG, LEDVANCE was established as an independent company and sold to a Chinese consortium. With this new structure and the new business model, LEDVANCE will be able to further expand its position as the world leader in the lighting industry, “said Bernd Minning, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of LEDVANCE, on this step.

“I’m sure that LEDVANCE is on the right track for the future” Commenting on leaving the company, Jes Munk Hansen said: “The last four years have been an extraordinary and exciting phase for LEDVANCE and all those involved in the reorientation of the company. I am very proud of everything we have achieved in a very short time. I’m sure that LEDVANCE is well on the way to the future. ” Transitional solution from our own ranks Until a successor is found, Rüdiger Tibbe, CTO (Chief Transformation Officer), will fill the vacant post temporarily.
