LEDucation Announces Lineup for August Online Conference

NEW YORK — Designers Lighting Forum of New York (DLFNY) is excited to announce the lineup for the LEDucation August Conference, hosted virtually August 17–18, 2021. Lighting industry luminaries and fresh up-and-comers will present 12 non-concurrent educational sessions — all submitted for AIA CES approval and free of charge. Topics range from highly technical and research-based techniques for effective lighting systems design and specification, to broad-stroke design trends such as circadian support and digital placemaking.

Lighting advocates, designers, and engineers from the New York Metro area and across the U.S. will present on particular competencies gained through experience, insight, and research. An afternoon panel discussion on luminaire uniformity anchors the conference on Tuesday: researchers from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory will define and compare various metrics and how they affect perceived uniformity. Seminars covering LED dimming compatibility and energy code compliance measures will help the online audience develop problem-solving skillsets. Hot topics include the rise of DC lighting systems; outdoor lighting and public safety; new, digital specification tools; UV-disinfection processes; and integrative design for holistic project success.

Building on the success of the March 2021 LEDucation virtual event, the upcoming LEDucation August Conference will attract new lighting professionals from across the globe and will feature an interactive component for each session. Topics were chosen to generate “heat” and inspire discussion that will ripple through the industry for months to come. Registration is open now at leducation.org

Lighting designers, architects, and allied lighting professionals will gather in-person for the 2022 LEDucation Trade Show and Conference, slated for March 15–17 at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York City. The event will feature a lively, in-person educational program plus multiple exhibition halls hosting the industry’s top manufacturers and suppliers. LEDucation will continue to prioritize the health and safety of all attendees and will run in accordance with official COVID-19 guidance, as well the Hilton’s stringent health protocols. Stay tuned for further details on the 2022 show at LEDucation.org.

Meanwhile, the DLFNY LEDucation Committee looks forward to an especially dynamic and well attended LEDucation August Conference, August 17–18, 2021. They express their appreciation to the outstanding speakers and panel participants who will present, and to the entire lighting community for their support of digital LEDucation events.
