Keystone’s CEO Named Entrepreneur of the Year

LANSDALE, Pa. — Keystone Technologies’ CEO Ira Greenberg has been named an Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2023 Greater Philadelphia Award winner, the professional services giant Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) announced.

The winners of Entrepreneur Of The Year, an honor founded and produced by EY US, are selected by an independent judging panel made up of previous award winners, leading CEOs, investors, and other regional business leaders.

“It is a privilege to be recognized as an Entrepreneur Of The Year by such a prestigious group,” said Greenberg. “Keystone’s success is the product of countless people, including my father and grandfather, and it’s a pleasure to have our good work praised by EY and its panel.”

Greenberg is the third generation of his family to oversee the 78-year-old company, a leader in creating quality-driven lighting solutions for the industry’s top lighting fixture manufacturers and wholesale distributors. The company was founded in 1945 by Harold Fox and Marvin Spielman, who saw a need for manufacturing ballasts and transformers for the lighting industry after returning from World War II. That initial offering has grown to a full catalog of lighting products, including a comprehensive line of lamps, fixtures, power supplies, and controls.

Greenberg’s father Fred joined the firm in 1975, and Ira came on board in 2001.

After many years of manufacturing products primarily for fluorescent fixtures, Keystone expanded into the still-growing LED market in the early 21st century and has boldly focused on both new products—including wireless controls, instantly programmable drivers, and lamps with field-adjustable wattages and color temperatures—and an enlightened, user-friendly approach to customer service.

Indeed, Keystone’s philosophy is summed up in a three-word mission that encapsulates how lighting should be simple, hassle-free, and enjoyable: Light Made Easy®.

The company now has hundreds of employees across the United States, working both in person and remotely, many based in its Lansdale headquarters northwest of Philadelphia.

“This award is a tribute to every Keystone employee, whose creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment to our principles has led to our status as a leader in the lighting industry,” said Ira Greenberg. “Thanks to their hard work and that of our outstanding leadership team, I look forward to continued success.”
