Green Mountain Electric Supply announced on March 29, 2024 that it has acquired lon Lighting Distribution, Inc.
Ion Lighting Distribution, based in Springfield, Mass. since 2016, was established when Sean Callahan of Needham Electric Supply and James Jaron of Zap Electric determined the region was in need of a lighting-focused distributor.
Since then, they have become a major player in providing businesses, municipalities, schools, and contractors with solutions to save money through energy-efficient lighting products that include warranties, and guidance on maximizing rebate incentives.
Luc Choquette, VP of Operations at Green Mountain Electric Supply, said, “Today marks an exciting milestone as we welcome aboard the lon Lighting Distribution team. We believe that their deep knowledge of the greater Springfield market will help Green Mountain Electric Supply flourish in Western Massachusetts.”
“We are very excited to be joining the GMES team and look forward to providing our present and future customers with a complete line of electrical supply products,” said Sean Callahan, manager for the Springfield location.
This acquisition marks the second one for GMES in 2024, along with two new locations In Watertown, NY and Franklin, NH.
