D+R to End Lighting Facts Program

D+R to End Lighting Facts Program

Over the past 10 years, the LED Lighting Facts program has had a significant impact on the evolution and adoption of LED lighting technology and products. This “truth-in-advertising” labeling program has given buyers assurance that the performance of the LED lighting products has been independently verified.

As a valued stakeholder using LED Lighting Facts, we are reaching out to inform you that we will begin phasing out the program on March 1, 2019. Near-term impacts include:

  • Manufacturers who have current subscriptions will be able to submit new products for listing and labels through March 31, 2019.
  • No new subscribers will be accepted.
  • Updates to products will no longer be accepted.
  • Refunds will be issued to current annual subscribers and approved labs for the remainder of the subscription period by March 31, 2019.
  • LED Lighting Facts website and searchable database will remain live through 2019.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: If my products have been archived, are my LED Lighting Facts labels still valid?

A: Labels that you currently have do not expire but stakeholders will not be able to search for these archived products in the public database. You will not have access to labels for products that have been archived.

Q: Will the LED Lighting Facts labels be valid after the program closes?

A: Labels that you currently have do not expire but stakeholders will not be able to search for these products in the public database after Dec. 31, 2019, when the site is taken down.

Q: Can I update or re-list any of my products?

A: Updating of products will not be allowed after February 28th 2019 but you will be able to submit these “updates” as new products during the month of March if you had a valid subscription as on March 1st 2019.

Q: If I paid for monthly subscription prior to Feb. 28, 2019, will I receive a refund?

A: Being that your organization had the opportunity to list products during your subscription period, we will not be issuing refunds for your subscriptions. You will, however, be able to submit new products for listing and labels during the month of March as long as you have an active monthly subscription as of February 28th 2019.

Q: If paid for an annual subscription, will I receive a refund?

A: Your refund is based on the date that you paid for your annual subscription. An email has been sent to your organization that will outline the refund you should expect to receive. Please contact info@lightingfacts.com if you did not receive this information or have any questions.
