On December 13, 2017, Ellis Yan and TCP (Technical Consumer Products) announced that Yan and his brother Solomon were buying all remaining stock in the company, the sale has been approved by the board of directors, and it would be completed during the first quarter of next year.
On December 14, 2017, TCP told the Ohio State Dislocated Worker Unit that it will be eliminating approximately 34 jobs at its Aurora, Ohio plant. It also disclosed that all 34 impacted employees have already been notified that their jobs will be eliminated by February 11, 2018.
The eliminated positions, according to the filing, include one National Account Support Specialist, two inside sales positions, two marketing positions, and two engineering positions.

Re: Notice of Layoff to State Dislocated Worker Unit Pursuant to the Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification (“WARN”) Act
Dear Ms. Stollar:
Please be advised that Technical Consumer Products, Inc. (TCP) will be significantly reducing its workforce as an outcome of a pending merger and the need to restructure operations located at 325 Campus Drive, Aurora, Ohio 44202.
This reduction in workforce is expected to occur on February 11, 2018 or during the 14-day period commencing on that date. As of December 13, 2017, all affected employees have been notified individually.
Based upon the best information currently available to TCP, the reduction in workforce will result in the permanent separation of approximately 34 employees in Ohio. The affected employees are not represented by any union. Please be advised that there are no bumping rights for employees affected by this action.
