SALISBURY, N.C. – Effective Monday, February 1st, Shat-R-Shield, Inc. announced the promotion of Kevin Ruzicka to Director of Sales.
Ruzicka started in the electrical industry in 2012 and has held positions with Fishco Group, Holophane, Holt Electrical Supplies, and was hired by Shat-R-Shield as the North Central Regional Sales Manager in May 2018.
Pam Erickson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Shat-R-Shield stated, “Kevin’s ability to grow an underperforming territory, hire and nurture top rep agencies, all with an enviable tenacity and fortitude is what makes him the right candidate for this position. I have no doubt that Kevin will be successful in this role and will continue to propel the company into a brighter 2021 and beyond.”
According to Karen Clouse, Shat-R-Shield’s President, “Since coming to Shat-R-Shield, Kevin has shown he has the skill set and initiative to take on more responsibility and grow into a leadership role within the company. He has a proven track record of success and accomplishment, is well respected by his reps and customers, and has an uncanny ability to turn challenges into opportunities. We are very happy to have Kevin take on this role and continue down the successful path laid before him. I’m sure he will make Pam proud.”
In the role of Director of Sales, Ruzicka will be accountable for sales initiatives and programs, corporate level relationships at National Accounts, Buying Groups, and other strategic accounts and many other day-to-day sales related responsibilities. Ruzicka will also serve on Shat-R-Shield’s Senior Leadership Team. Shat-R-Shield’s Regional Sales Managers, Customer Service Manager and Pricing Analyst will report to Ruzicka and he will report directly to Karen Clouse, Shat-R-Shield’s President.
Regarding the new promotion, Ruzicka remarked, “With so many new and exciting things happing at Shat-R-Shield, I am privileged to be a continued part of this battle-hardened team and look forward to all the challenges that 2021 and beyond will bring.”
Meanwhile, Shat-R-Shield’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Pam Erickson, announced her retirement effective March 31, 2021.
Erickson started her professional career working at Layne-Western, a Water Well Drilling company, based in Kansas City, Missouri, where she held various positions within the company for a 10-year period. Erickson’s 15-year career in the aerospace industry with DIT-MCO International in Kansas City, Missouri offered her the opportunity to work in various roles within their engineering, sales and marketing departments. Erickson’s career in the electrical industry began in May 2006 at Milbank Manufacturing in Kansas City, Missouri as Director of Marketing. Then in November 2010, she joined Affiliated Distributors (AD) based out of Wayne, Pennsylvania as Vice President of Marketing. Erickson joined NSi Industries headquartered in Huntersville, NC as Executive Vice President of Marketing in June 2014 and was employed there until November 2017 when she accepted the role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Shat-R-Shield headquartered in Salisbury, N.C.
Bob Nolan, Shat-R-Shield’s CEO, commented, “Pam has been a top notch team leader and contributor to Shat-R-Shield. It’s been an honor to work with Pam as well as a lot of fun. She will be dearly missed.”
According to Clouse, “Pam came to Shat-R-Shield at a time when we were still at the tip of the iceberg when it came to establishing our company as a well-known LED fixture manufacturer. Under her leadership, guidance and amazing drive she has greatly enhanced our sales and marketing, and relentlessly driven product development to help us finally realize our vision. We are now well known as a specialty LED fixture manufacturer, offering unique and differentiated products that no other LED manufacturer has in their portfolio. We would not be here as such today if it weren’t for Pam. Many among us know that Pam has had a prestigious career in the electrical industry and we, at Shat-R-Shield, are so proud she chose us to be her final accomplishment!”
Erickson, who resides in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, said she’s excited to join her husband who has been retired for nearly two years so she can spend more time with him, her children and grandchildren. She said she is also looking forward to taking extended scuba diving vacations without her computer in tow.
Erickson reflected on her upcoming retirement by saying, “While retirement is something we all work for as a reward for the many years of hard work, it is also bittersweet to see this chapter of my life come to an end. There was a time I wasn’t sure I would ever want to retire, but 2020 has given me a new perspective on work and family. My 15-year career in the electrical industry has afforded me the opportunity to work at four well respected companies and I’ve gained much more than industry knowledge. The many friends I’ve made over the years in this industry will remain near and dear to my heart and I hope that our paths cross again soon.”
