HOLTSVILLE, N.Y. — Topaz Lighting and Electrical, headquartered on Long Island, N.Y., was recently honored by Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk County, Long Island, as the organization’s “ReStore Partner of the Year.”
Laurie Darnaby, Topaz’s Vice President of Human Resources, received the award on behalf of Topaz at the 19th Annual Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk Roger Metcalf Memorial Golf & Tennis Classic. In her acceptance speech, Darnaby reinforced Topaz’s commitment to community service and continued support for Habitat for Humanity.
Topaz CEO, Tim Gomes, explains the company’s partnership with Habita: “Topaz is privileged to have partnered with the Habitat for Humanity ReStore for over ten years, donating products from our line of electrical and lighting supplies for resale in the Restore warehouse.”
Habitat for Humanity is a not-for-profit organization working to eliminate substandard housing by building quality affordable homes. Habitat of Suffolk County also operates ReStore, a retail outlet open to the public to shop for quality donated new and slightly used building supplies and home furnishings at a fraction of the original cost, with all revenue supporting Habitat Suffolk’s mission.
