ATLANTA, November 12, 2021 – Acuity Brands, Inc. (NYSE: AYI) announced today John Kimmel, Vice President – Strategic Accounts, will be retiring on December 31, after a 43+ year career with the company, primarily working with Acuity Brands’ many distributor partners.
Among his many accomplishments, John initiated Acuity Brands’ Distributor Marketing and Distributor Sales departments during the 1990s and has remained the ambassador to the company’s distributor partners for more than 25 years. John served twice on the NAED (National Association of Electrical Distributors) Manufacturing Council and has served on the NAED CAP (Channel Advantage Partnership) council since its inception. John has attended 114 NAED Conferences.

John began his career with Acuity Brands in 1978. He started out in the company’s Vermilion, OH factory, and worked his way up serving in many functions, such as Industrial Engineering, Quality Control, Quotations, Sales and, finally, Distributor Sales and Marketing.
