Granite City Electric Supply has concluded its selective asset purchase of Major Electric, headquartered in Pawtucket, R.I.
The complementary combination of Major Electric and Granite City Electric will create a broader service network for their customers, company officials said. The combined companies will create an enhanced distribution network throughout southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island which will enable Granite City to better serve all customers in those regions. With the addition of Major Electric’s three locations, Granite City Electric has 28 locations throughout New England.
Major Electric has been serving industrial markets, contractors, institutions and retail lighting since 1946.
In a press release, Major Electric’s Alan Leven says he is “looking forward to having our team combine with the Granite City team to help grow our business throughout the 6 New England states.” Leven believes the “transaction creates future opportunities for our people and theirs to grow personally and professionally in their efforts to serve all customers.” Leven will remain with the company for several years in a senior management role.
