MENTOR, Ohio — EYE Lighting has announced that its parent company, Iwasaki Electric Co., Ltd., of Japan, will design and build a new Technology and Development Center, to be located at its Saitama operations. 600 people will work in the new facility when it is completed in April 2017.
“The new ‘TechnoCenter’, with state-of-the-art test and measurement equipment, will be the base of operations for our international product development, and complement EYE’s highly active research and development projects for North American lighting market,” said Tom Salpietra, president and chief operating officer of EYE Lighting in Mentor, Ohio. “The investment will result in faster innovation, modern designs, improved quality processes, and streamlined manufacturing. The entire Iwasaki global presence, including EYE Lighting, will benefit from this new capability. Our new LED product lines are growing rapidly, and this new resource will keep us competitive for years to come.”
