VICKSBURG, Miss.—Power management company Eaton today announced that Sports Force Parks, a national operator of youth tournament facilities, has installed outdoor and sports lighting solutions from Eaton to illuminate the playing fields, parking lots and pedestrian walkways at its new Sports Force Parks on the Mississippi in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Many LED fixtures used on the project, including Ephesus, Invue Arbor, and McGraw-Edison Galleon products, were manufactured less than 10 miles away at Eaton’s facility in Vicksburg.
“Eaton’s outdoor lighting offerings have helped illuminate nearly every area of our facility. In particular, the Ephesus sports lighting solution was the right choice for our fields due to its quality, reliability and innovative capabilities,” said Brian Storm, President & CEO of Sports Force Parks. “We wanted to engage the Vicksburg community as much as we could on this project, so having the majority of lighting in the park made right in Vicksburg is a perfect fit.”
The 55-acre complex, scheduled to open in Spring 2019, will feature 10 baseball/softball fields and seven full-size soccer/multi-sport fields. The park will also include high-quality concessions, retail, and entertainment attractions. Eaton’s Ephesus LED sports lighting will illuminate six of the baseball/softball fields and four of the soccer/multi-sport fields. Eaton’s Invue Arbor, Galleon, CrossTour and Prevail solutions will provide the LED lighting for all common areas of the park, including the parking lot, pedestrian walkways, concession stands and miniature golf course.
“The new sports complex will be a major game-changer for Vicksburg. It is a vital component for tourism and economic development for our community. It will be state of the art and the first of its kind in the state of Mississippi. We hope to bring in teams and their families from all over the region and nation to compete in a first-class and high-quality facility,” said George Flaggs, mayor of Vicksburg.
“We take great pride in all of the lighting products we make here in Vicksburg, and our team is excited to see their work installed just down the road for the enjoyment of the entire community,” said Becky Rainer, manager, Industry and Government Relations, Lighting division – Eaton. “We thank Sports Force and the City of Vicksburg for making us a part of this beneficial community initiative.”
