PORTSMOUTH, NH—Dialight, a leader in LED industrial lighting technology with over 1 million LED fixtures installed worldwide, has joined 42 manufacturers/brands and leading electrical distributors in endorsing the NEMRA POS Minimum Reporting Standards.
The standards, developed by a joint manufacturer rep/manufacturer task force, identify the minimum point of sale/point of transfer information that manufacturers need from distributors to accurately compensate their local sales agent.
Repositioned as “place of sale”, this information is needed for identifying where product is sold and does not include customer information. The decision to share customer level information is left to commercial discussions between distributors and manufacturers, and can be accommodated within the standards reporting format.
Tom Latanision, Director Channel, Americas, shared “Dialight recognizes the importance of ensuring that our manufacturer reps and direct sales support staff are appropriately recognized for their efforts on behalf of our distributors and their customers. This information helps ensure we can provide them the credit that they deserve and compensate them appropriately. Having a consistent reporting format will make this process immeasurably easier for all.”
As an endorser Dialight encourages its distributors to submit POS information to them in the approved NEMRA POS / POT format.
Ken Hooper, President of NEMRA, commented “On behalf of Dialight’s NEMRA reps, we appreciate Dialight’s commitment to its reps and endorsement of the POS Minimum Reporting Standards. We agree with Tom that a consistent reporting template can help save distributors and manufacturers time in generating/processing POS information while ensuring accurate information is transmitted between distributors and manufacturers. This is critical in recognizing sales organizations for their efforts calling on distributors and their customers.”
