COMMERCE, CA — Nora Lighting recently presented a contribution to the California Fire Foundation, the non-profit arm of the California Professional Firefighters Association. The Foundation assists the families of fallen firefighters, firefighters and the communities they serve.
“With the recent horrific fires in California, the Nora Lighting staff and associates agreed that a donation to the CA Fire Foundation was a way to show support to the brave first responders,” said Jilla Farzan, Nora Lighting executive vice president.
“Nora’s generous gift will help support our many outreach programs,” said Sara Rogers, spokesperson for the Foundation. “We offer scholarships to children of fallen firefighters and provide aid to victims of fire and other natural disasters.”
The Foundation also provides gift cards to families who have lost their homes. The cards can be used for lodging, clothing and medical supplies after a fire or natural disaster.
The Foundation was created by the California Professional Firefighters in 1987 when the group decided to build a memorial wall in Sacramento honoring firefighters who lost their lives. Each year, a service is held at the memorial honoring firefighters who died in recent disasters.
