Legrand Makes Major Contributions to Electrical Apprentice Training

WEST HARTFORD, Conn.—Legrand, the world specialist in products and systems for electrical installations and information networks, has made significant contributions to two leading organizations to support training of the next generation of electrical industry professionals. The Independent Electrical Contractors Foundation and the Electrical Training Alliance will each receive equipment to be used in their regional training centers. The total value of this grant to electrical apprenticeship programs is $2 million in products.

The Electrical Training Alliance, a joint training program between the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), will receive Pass & Seymour® wiring devices for apprenticeship programs at each of more than 270 locations.

Legrand¹s contribution to the Independent Electrical Contractors Foundation also includes Pass & Seymour devices for its more than 50 Chapter Training Centers across the country. The donation was made through the IEC Foundation Equipment Grant Program, which introduces and guides young men and women to successful and satisfying careers in the electrical and communications industries.

According to Steve Killius, Vice President of Legrand¹s Contractor Resource Group, Legrand is dedicated to the development of the next generation of electrical workers prepared to meet the evolving needs of our industry. “Legrand is pleased to invest in these valuable programs that help shape the skills of the next generation electrician,” he explained. “We recognize the importance of working together to develop programs and curriculum that will prepare our tradespeople to meet the evolving service and infrastructure demands of the future.”
